Houston Music Festival
Houston Music Festival seeks to establish Houston as a thriving artistic hub by providing a platform for the city's emerging classical music talent. We reimagine classical chamber music as a dynamic art form that builds community, amplifies underrepresented voices, and resonates with modern society. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, our goal is to explore new ways in which classical music can foster a sense of community and togetherness in all corners of Houston.
Our inaugural season in 2024 featured two groundbreaking events which reached over 150 audience members. Both performances experimented with innovative interdisciplinary collaborations, melding classical chamber music, musical improvisation, spoken word, poetry, and interviews into a powerful artistic message. Our 2024 Artist in Residence was former Houston Poet Laureate Outspoken Bean, and out opening night featured a guest appearance by WindSync. Our second season will feature the world premiere of a new chamber work by a local composer, and immersive performances that celebrate the unique blend of global diversity and closeknit community that defines our city
Houston Music Festival’s inaugural season took place from November 1-3, 2024
